I’m a photographic illustrator based near Norwich in the UK I graduated from Norwich University of the Arts in 2016 having studied illustration. In 2017, I completed my Master’s degree in Communication Design. Using a mixture of traditional darkroom photographic techniques and contemporary methods, I create unconventional visual narratives that focus on place, object and form inspired by historical and social contexts. The resulting practice is led by the exploration of the visual language of photography and the dialogue between concept, process and metaphor.
My work also investigates the juxtaposition between the materiality of the process and subject. The roots of photography as a science influences my experimental approach to image making and I use photographic techniques developed by some of the pioneers of the medium including Fox Talbot and Anna Atkins.
